Baby Avy Updates!
Little Avy is almost three months old now!!
He loves to suck on his little fingers and hands. He's not big on a pacy and I'm hoping I don't have a future thumb sucker on my hands!! Avy is holding his head up on his own now for the most part. He is completely obsessed with cartoons -- more specifically, King of the Hill. He is glued to the screen if we put it on for him! :) He LOVES to stare at himself in the mirror. We get big grins and coos when he's looking at himself. I can't say I blame him. He's pretty loveable...
I dressed him up as a bat for Halloween. He was absolutely adorable and I got to show him off at Hebron's Fall Festival shindig they put on every year. We've already had to pack up our newborn clothes and he is now in 3 month attire.
I'll update again soon! The holidays are fast approaching and I'm so looking forward to making memories with my sweet little boy!

So, there's this boy.....
Hellllooooo to my blogging buddies! It's been a minute! I've been a little busy, so I apologize for not updating sooner than this. Staying at home with a little one doesn't give you as much free time as you'd think!!
Speaking of which......HE'S HERE!!! My little boy made his debut on August 24 at 6:18 pm weighing in at 7lbs after baking for 41 weeks in Mommy's belly :) Brett and I named him Avy Preston Daniel and he is absolute perfection. Labor was a breeze for the most part.... we went to the hospital on Tuesday night, the 23rd. They gave me a couple of pills to start softening my cervix that night but we didn't really see any action until Dr. Pohl broke my water around 9 the next morning. It didn't take long for those contractions to get pretty intense and I had my epidural about two hours after they broke my water. It worked GREAT until I hit about 8cm (around 4pm, I think??). Then it wore off and I felt EVERY little pain. The nurse re-dosed me a couple of times, but nothing really worked after that, so while labor wasn't too bad, delivery was not quite as easy. I felt it ALL.
Delivering Avy was hands down the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I remember telling my Mom more than once that I didn't think I was going to be able to get through it. People will tell you it's the worst pain they've ever experienced and I would agree wholeheartedly. It sucks. It really sucks. But the pain is completely worth it in the end ;o)
Since Avy's arrival I've been doing the new Mommy thing and that's literally all I have time for right now. It's crazy how much time and attention they require. I'm loving every minute of it and I HATE to think about going back to work in a few weeks. Blah. But money is nice to have (HA) and I'm not the 'stay at home' type anyway.
I'll leave you with a few pictures of my sweet little thang. I'll try to update month by month now so that I can keep everyone informed of what's going on with Avy.

I may just lose it......
When I was about 34 weeks pregnant, I made a comment to one of my other preggo buddies about how I was starting to feel worn down and, well, kinda crappy. She just laughed and told me to wait until I hit my 37th or 38th week.....
I was 38 weeks yesterday. Someone needs to get this child out of my body. I'm pretty sure all of my ribs are rearranged, I have heartburn constantly, I can't imagine that my bladder will ever be the same after being smooshed down for weeks and the hormones are raging ( if you couldn't already tell :) )!! Top that off with insomnia and contractions that aren't steady but are pretty strong and you've got yourself a recipe for an unhappy girl....
I'm TRYING to remind myself that I need to enjoy these last few days of being by myself, but it's difficult. I feel bad....
Sorry this post is not very sunshiney!! The next time I post will probably be to introduce you all to my son, so it'll be a happy one for sure!
Happy Thursday......

Pregnancy progress.....and other things :)
Unbelievably, I have just entered the first week of my third trimester......not long now!
I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and my doctor showed me (with a measuring tape) how much bigger this gut was going to get before Baby Boy makes his debut in August.....whew! I don't know how I'm going to stretch that much more! LOL :)
Things are perfect with the baby, his development, etc., and his weight is measuring just a little over the norm (figures!! haha). I'm so thankful that he's healthy!! Still no name yet, and I'm starting to freak out about that a little....I can't find one that I'm completely happy with...we'll see! We may be calling him 'hey you' if I can't get my act together and decide!
In other news, the tranny on the Honda went out on me about three weeks ago. It's still not fixed (hopefully this weekend!) and that's wearing on me a little...(there goes the money I put aside for my baby/hospital bills). It feels like I've been VERY tested this month....when it rains it pours! Somebody told me the other day that you're never given more than you can handle. In other words, have faith. Something I struggle with. I like control. I like to know what to expect. Welcome to the real world, Ms. Parker..
I'm moving yet again this weekend. This is the fifth or sixth time in five years, I think?? Ugggh, over it. Hopefully I'll stay put for a while once this move is done but I'm NOT looking forward to all the "fun" we get to have this weekend making that happen :o)
Hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday weekend! Call me, I'll be knee deep in boxes, if you need something to occupy your time! lol :)
Happy Friday!!
